First for Dumfries & Galloway was trapped at Cardryne near Drummore, Wigtownshire on 8th September 2012.

Life cycle
Univoltine. Flies by night and comes to light.
 
Larval foodplants
Sea campion.
 
Identification
No other Caryocolum species has four large white spots, although these may be reduced, so gen.det. required.
 
Habitat
Coastal shingle and cliffs.
