First was of larvae found on Alnus at Caerlaverock on 10th July 1982 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton.
Other sites: Castle Wood at Caerlaverock, Courance, Stenhouse Wood SWT Reserve.

First was of larvae found at Wood of Cree on 25th June 2005.
Other sites: None.
 
VC74
First for Dumfries & Galloway was of a few larvae found on Alnus at "Motte" near Skaith on 9th July 1982 by E. C. Pelham-Clinton.
Other sites: Airyolland Lodge on Luce Bay. 
 
Life cycle
Bivoltine. Mine season is during June to July. First generation is in June, with the second emerging in September and overwintering, re-emerging in the spring through to April.
