First was found at an unknown site by person unknown prior to 1985 (BRC/MOGBI data).
Other sites: Glencaple, Holmhead on Lochar Moss, Kelhead Flow.
 
VC73
First for Dumfries & Galloway was found on Kirkconnell Flow NNR on 30th August 1978 by Sir Arthur Duncan, specimen at National Museums Scotland.
Other sites: Carsfad near Dalry, Kendoon, Lochaber Loch, Wood of Cree.
 
VC74
First was of a larva found at Torrs Warren on 26th June 2005.
Other sites: None. 
 
Life cycle
Bivoltine. Mine season is during May and July. First generation flies from late June through July, with the second generation emerging in September or October, after which it overwinters, re-emerging in April.
