1673 Small Emerald Hemistola chrysoprasaria (Esper, 1794)
Flight period
History & Status Rare. Two records. First was recorded by Gordon (1919) from Craigenveoch (VC74) on 31st July 1909. The other was from Auchencairn on 23rd July 2002. Waring & Townsend say "Has been recorded in southern Scotland as a stray. Possibly from accidental importation of garden varities of clematis." It's other foodplant is Traveller's-joy. It overwinters as a small larva. |
