Flight period
History & Status Stray. One record. Not recorded in MOGBI for our Region. However, Gordon (1913) under Zeuzera aesculi states "one female taken by J. G. Gordon flying on lawn at Corsemalzie, about 11:30 p.m. in July 1889. Kidd & Hewitt (2000) give one record for Cumbria (VC69) which occurred in 1934. Waring & Townsend (2003) state that there is one confirmed record for Co. Mayo, Ireland on 12th July 1978. Roy Leverton (2009) in the Scottish Macro List places this record in the Appendix under 'Plausible Additions.' Being a distinctive moth and noted in the flight period for this species we see no reason to doubt this record, there being a confirmed record for Ireland in July. Habitat |
