History

Not recorded in MOGBI for Dumfries & Galloway, who show it to be a southern and central England species; but there is one record from the Rothamsted station (VC72) for 4th July 1976. Waring states it as occasional in southern Scotland. Overwinters as a pupa, in a white cocoon spun between beech leaves.
