Macro-moths

The term macro-moths is used to describe the larger moths. In the UK these belong to 17 taxonomic families.  These families include most of the larger moths, but some members of these families are quite small and some micros (e.g. Mother of Pearl) are in turn larger than many of the smaller macros.
